Annotation of expertise:
I am an ecologist specialising in the community ecology of insects. My research focuses on how environmental drivers, particularly anthropogenic impacts, shape biodiversity. I am especially interested in the mechanisms behind these patterns and their implications for ecosystem functioning.
Within the Functional Biodiversity group, I contribute to the ConservES project, which evaluates the effects of flower strips on carabid beetle communities and seed predation. My work connects fundamental biodiversity research with applied questions on ecosystem services in agroecosystems.
Education:
2020: MSc. in Conservation Biology and Tropical Ecology, UTPL, Loja, Ecuador.
2025: Ph.D. in Ecology, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.
